Bolt Action - M3 Grant (Western Desert) - EN

The Medium Tank M3 was an American tank used by the British, US and Soviet forces. British troops gave nicknames to US tanks to avoid the confusion caused by the US military coding system. The original M3 became known as the Lee and the British turret variant became the Grant - both named after American Civil War generals.

British Grants were in action against Rommel’s forces during the North African Campaign. Their appearance was a surprise to the Germans, who were unprepared for the Grant's 75mm gun. Overall, its armour and firepower were the equal or superior to most of the threats it faced. Long-range, high velocity guns were not yet common on German tanks on the battlefield of 1942.

Grants served in North Africa until the end of the campaign and were generally appreciated for their mechanical reliability, good armour protection and heavy firepower. This variant comes complete with trackguards which offered the tank more protection during battle, in all the theatres it served in.

Contains one resin & metal M3 Grant tank, Bolt Action stat card, vehicle damage markers, full-colour decal sheet and Bolt Action Order dice.
